//Nearly Sacred// is a podcast which has, as a focal point, discussions that revolve around the sacred, or things that are nearly sacred or near to that which is sacred. Its main site is currently hosted here: [[https://nearlysacred.top/|https://nearlysacred.top/]].

==== The Hosts ====

The hosts of //Nearly Sacred// are JB Schirtzinger, and Melissa Sims-Schirtzinger. JB is a published author and has a degree in Telecommunication. Melissa is a reflexologist and essential oil expert who has an extensive background in research.

=== The History ===


//Nearly Sacred// was an idea Melissa and JB had sometime in mid to early late 2014. The first hurdle was to get podcast equipment that would allow for the best possible listening experience. After much research, JB settled on some equipment. This all arrived, but sat unused for about a year as JB and Melissa were involved at that point also with a small store that was called "Another's Treasure". Neither JB nor Melissa were exactly sure of the format for the podcast, but the idea to discuss local sacred sites in America was an early notion with the later instinct of perhaps giving tours of those areas discussed. After Melissa returned from a trip to France, JB and Melissa would begin hosting the first episode. Between episodes, Melissa and JB had purchased a business that was renamed to //Alchemy//. Many of the commercials in these early episodes relate to this store and the services offered there.


===== The Episodes =====

Originally, //Nearly Sacred// was hosted on a Wordpress instance on a domain. Both of those instances came under attack from bots and domain attempts at hijacking, so the site was moved to a different kind of hosting and the episodes were stored at the Internet Archive. After Internet Archive was attacked in October of 2024,((https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/internet-archive-hacked-data-breach-impacts-31-million-users/)) and further uploads were stopped, it became apparent a different hosting format was needed. This wiki page was started to address the history of the series and to upload a place where the seasons and episodes could be downloaded.

==== A Note About Episode Numbering ====

The numbering of the episodes varies somewhat as not everything that was recorded was uploaded as an official episode. In some cases, there were some episodes that were off-brand that simply no longer fit and where more a product of the time in which they were made which was short in duration. In others, the episodes never appeared for a variety of reasons.
